Job description

Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center is looking for a Full-Time Small Animal Veterinarian to join our growing, family orientated and collaborative small animal team.

Established in 1980, Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center is a well-established, full service predominantly equine veterinary hospital serving Cave Creek and surrounding community. In addition to our equine services, we provide comprehensive veterinary care for companion animals.  Our experienced team delivers compassionate, high-quality care ranging from routine wellness and preventive medicine to surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and emergency care.
The Small Animal Veterinarian is a full-time opportunity, working 4 days a week with rotating Saturdays and an opportunity for production-based bonuses.  This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practicing high-quality medicine in a supportive environment while building lasting client relationships. You'll have access to modern equipment, skilled support staff, and work-life balance.
Why Chaparral?

We offer the best of both worlds - a close-knit, supportive team with the tools and resources of a modern, well-equipped practice.  Our goal is simple: provide great medicine while creating an environment where veterinarians genuinely enjoy coming to work.

What You'll Do

Provide comprehensive care including exams, diagnostics, and treatment planning
Perform routine soft tissue surgeries (spays, neuters, mass removals), with the flexibility to incorporate additional surgeries based on your interests.
Deliver preventive care (wellness exams, vaccines, parasite prevention, nutrition guidance)
Interpret diagnostics (lab work, digital radiography, ultrasound)
Communicate clearly with clients about care plans and next steps
Collaborate with a strong team of technicians and support staff
Help foster a positive, team-oriented clinic culture

What We're Looking For

DVM or VMD (AZ license or ability to obtain)
Comfortable with general medicine and routine surgery
Strong communication skills and a client-focused mindset
Team-oriented and collaborative approach
Interest in continued learning and growth

New graduates are encouraged to apply - mentorship is available.
