10. Maintain accurate case files, animal custody and disposition records, financial documentation, inventories, statistics, and required reports.
11. Develop public education, prevention, responsible animal ownership, and community outreach programs.
12. Respond to significant incidents and operational needs and perform other job- related duties as assigned by the Public Safety Commissioner.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor' s degree from an accredited college or university in animal science, animal welfare, veterinary technology, public administration, criminal justice, business administration, or a closely related field.
Five ( 5) years of progressively responsible experience in animal welfare, animal control, shelter operations, veterinary services, regulatory enforcement, public safety, or a closely related field, including at least two ( 2) years of supervisory or program- management experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of humane animal care and handling, animal- control operations, policy development, personnel supervision, budgeting, records management, and interagency coordination.
Preferred Requirements: Bachelor' s degree from an accredited college or university in animal science, animal welfare, veterinary technology, public administration, criminal justice, business administration, or a closely related field.
Experience developing or establishing a new animal welfare, animal control, shelter, or public- service program.
Experience working in tribal government or within Indian Country. Experience with cruelty or neglect investigations, animal sheltering,
veterinary-service coordination, grants, contracts, emergency animal response, or regulatory program administration.
Relevant professional certification from a recognized animal welfare, animal control, shelter- management, or cruelty- investigation organization.
