Job Overview

Cage-Wash Operator – No experience required

As an Animal Cage-Wash Clerk for our Toxicology team in Senneville, you will be responsible for the well-being of our laboratory animals by keeping their living space clean. Your contribution will ensure the health of our animals, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

In this role, primary responsibilities include: 

  • Operate and perform daily checks on cage washer machines
  • Monitor the use of soap and various needs of the cage washers
  • Clean all type of animal housing and accessories 
  • Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on cages and accessories

If you have the following qualifications, we'll train you for the rest: 

  • Be a good team player 
  • Good observations and communications skills
  • Able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.)
  • Understanding of written English is mandatory. Bilingualism French and English is preferable

Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the expense of the company.


Role Specific Information:

  • Location: 22022 route Transcanadienne, Senneville, QC, H9X 1C1 
  • Transportation: We offer a free shuttle service from the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue train station and John Abbott College to the Senneville site. Free parking. Electric vehicle charging station 
  • Salary: 18.75$/hrs
  • Annual bonus based on performance
  • Permanent position as of the hiring
  • Premiums: 
    • Weekends: 2.75$/hrs
    • Overtime after 37.5hrs: Paid at time and a half
    • Holidays: Paid double time 
  • Schedule: 
    • 11hrs shift (7:00 am to 6:30 pm)
    • Alternating 4 days on, 3 days off, 3 days on, 4 days off, etc.
    • Weekend rotation 3/4
