Job description

VCA Green Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and flexible On-Call Associate Veterinarian to provide coverage for scheduled time off, vacations, medical leave, and periods of increased patient demand. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys practicing high-quality medicine while maintaining a flexible schedule.
As part of our team, you will work alongside experienced veterinarians and a dedicated support staff to deliver exceptional patient care and an outstanding client experience. Our hospital values teamwork, communication, continuous learning and patient-centered medicine.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Provide high-quality preventive, medical, surgical, and dental care to companion animals.
-Perform physical examinations, diagnose illnesses, and develop appropriate treatment plans.
-Communicate medical findings and recommendations clearly and compassionately with clients.
-Maintain accurate and timely medical records using the hospital's electronic medical record system.
-Collaborate effectively with veterinarians, credentialed veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service representatives.
-Follow VCA medical standards, protocols, and safety guidelines.
-Contribute to a positive, supportive, and respectful hospital culture.
Qualifications:
-Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) degree from an accredited institution.
-Active veterinary license in the state of practice, or ability to obtain one prior to employment.
-DEA license (or ability to obtain one if required).
-Strong communication, teamwork, and client service skills.
-Ability to adapt to changing schedules and hospital needs.
-Experience in small animal general practice preferred, but all qualified canddates are encouraged to apply.
