Job Summary

We are looking for an Animal Care Technician I to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in Bethesda, MD. 

The responsibilities of the Animal Care Technician I are to perform daily animal health observations, animal husbandry duties, to maintain the quality and health of research animals, to include performing daily water bottle and cage checks, cage changing and/or cage cleaning as required; providing food and water; and recording health concerns.

In addition: 

Maintain accurate records of animal breeding, housing, or support areas. 


Receive, inspect, and house incoming animals. 


Assist with restraint, handling, and manipulation of various animal species. 


May become involved in breeding and weaning procedures. 


Monitor personnel and equipment entry into various rooms. 


Operate required equipment and performs general housekeeping. 

Job Qualifications

A candidate that possesses a high school diploma or general education degree is preferred; experience performing basic animal care desired. Interest in achieving ALAT certification upon eligibility.

The pay for this position is $22.50 USD per hour.
