Job description

At VCA Valley Animal Hospital, in South Windsor CT, you can be the Veterinary Technician you have always wanted to be!

We are a 4 doctor, full service hospital located just outside of Hartford Ct. that has served the community for over 30 years. We have a collaborative culture in our hospital that values each person’s individual skill and personality. We treat each patient, pet parent, and team member like part of the family! We are seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our medical team.

About the Role

As Veterinary Technician Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Directing work flow on the floor 
  • Cultivate an engaging work environment and maintain our strong hospital culture
  • Work cohesively with hospital management and supervisory teams to aid in the progression of the hospital
  • Help with the interview process for potential new hires and onboard all new associates 
  • Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills 
  • Conduct staff meetings
  • Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience 
  • Mentoring technicians within the department 
  • Resolve conflicts in a professional and humble manner 
  • Refining and implementing protocols
  • Ensure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff.

Schedule: Full Time, evening and Saturday rotation required.

Compensation: $26.00 - $35.00 / hr based on skill set, experience, and licensure status.

Being a Technician Supervisor means you are a believer in the possibilities of high-quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen. 

Having mastered the entire range of vet tech skills yourself, you are a role model for the team. You will work alongside our Veterinarians, Hospital Manager, and Assistant Manager to provide mentorship, ensure the hospital runs efficiently and fosters a winning environment. 

Qualifications:

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician- CVT, LVT, RVT, LVMT (FL CVT Preferred)
  • 5+ years of clinical experience 
  • Team leadership experience
  • Passion for Veterinary Medicine 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
