Our services span Data & Analytics, Intelligent Automation, Enterprise IT Modernization, Application Development, and Cloud Engineering, with a specialized focus on National Security, and DoD programs. We are dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that support the critical missions of our government clients.
The Director of Strategic Growth will lead Anika Systemsโ€™ efforts to expand its footprint and capture new business within the National Security, and DoD sectors. This executive-level position will be responsible for shaping and executing the companyโ€™s business development strategy in these areas, managing key client relationships, and driving growth through successful government contract pursuits. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in federal contracting, a strong understanding of the unique needs of these sectors, and a proven track record of building relationships with decision-makers in federal agencies.
Must Have Experience: We are looking for an individual who has worked in the qualification, win strategy, capture, and support of proposal development activities.ย  Must have experience leading successful pursuits across federal National Security and DoD sectors in the areas of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) with UiPath, Low Code (Microsoft Power Platform), Data Engineering and Analytics, and digital transformation initiatives.
Preferred Experience: We are looking for an individual who has a track record of capturing and bidding opportunities across National Security and DoD sectors in areas of Salesforce and ServiceNow.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development Strategy: Develop and implement a strategic business development plan focused on identifying and capturing new opportunities within : National Security (DHS, DOJ, DoS) and DoD (Navy, Army, Airforce).ย  Drive growth through targeted marketing, sales, and partnership initiatives.
  • Identify & Capture New Opportunities: Lead efforts to identify new business opportunities and qualifications for contracts in the federal marketplace. Ensure alignment with Anika Systemsโ€™ service offerings, such as data analytics, cloud engineering, IT modernization, and intelligent automation. Leverage existing Anika contracting vehicles, GWAC (OASIS, Polaris) and IDIQโ€™s to qualify and bid task orders.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and nurture relationships with key decision-makers across : National Security (DHS, DOJ, DoS) and DoD (Navy, Army, Airforce) agencies. ย ย Build trust and foster long-term partnerships with federal government clients to ensure successful contract awards and execution.
  • Proposal and Capture Management: Capture Management: Collaborate and support Proposal, Solutions, and BD/Capture teams across the capture process for new business, ensuring effective proposal management, strategy development, and compliance with federal procurement regulations. Partner with the Vice President of Capture and Proposals to support the efforts for the preparation and submission of high-quality proposals that align with agency needs.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor and assess industry trends, government priorities, and competitor activities to position Anika Systems strategically in the federal marketplace. Provide insights and recommendations to executive leadership to inform business decisions.
  • Networking & Industry Engagement: Represent Anika Systems at key industry events, conferences, and networking forums relevant to: National Security (DHS, DOJ, DoS) and DoD (Navy, Army, Airforce).ย  Actively engage with potential clients, prime contractors, and industry partners to expand Anikaโ€™s visibility and opportunities.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support the business development team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and driving a results-oriented culture. Provide guidance on proposal development, market strategies, and customer relationship management.
  • Executive Collaboration: Work closely with the COO and other senior leaders to align business development efforts with company objectives, ensuring cohesive and integrated growth strategies across all lines of business.
  • Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure all business development efforts are compliant with federal procurement regulations (FAR, DFARS), as well as industry best practices for federal contracting.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 10-15 years of total experience with 8+ years of business development experience in the federal contracting space, with a focus on National Security, and DoD agencies. Experience in technology consulting services (IT modernization, cloud engineering, analytics, automation) is a significant plus.
  • Must be local to the DMV area.
  • Sector Expertise: Knowledge of challenges and procurement needs across the following agencies is preferred: National Security (DHS, DOJ, DoS) and DoD (Navy, Army, Airforce)
