The Department of Anesthesiology at Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School, seeks a qualified general anesthesiologist for a full-time position as Assistant Professor, Non-Tenure Track. Duties include on-site anesthesia services to adult patients at University Hospital; intraoperative and didactic teaching of residents; participation in Faculty Development programs; work collaboratively with the members of the surgical services both clinically and administratively; and participation in research that forwards the discipline both academically and clinically.
Qualified applicants must: 1. Have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2. Hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the state of New Jersey, and 3. Be a BC/BE Anesthesiologist. The effective day of the appointment July 1st, 2026

Full-time faculty position for Attending General Anesthesiologist involving patient care, resident and student didactics, and research functions.
Statement
Position Description:
The selected candidate is expected to participate fully, in all activities of the Department of Anesthesiology, to the satisfaction of the Department Chair. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to, those listed below. These responsibilities may be amended upon written notification:
Provide on-site anesthesia services to adult patients at University Hospital in the Main Operating Rooms, the Same-Day-Surgery ORs in the Doctor's Office Center, The Stone Center and various off-the-floor locations;
Provide intraoperative and didactic teaching of residents/educational activities that forwards division/department/ institutional goals;
Participate in various divisional/departmental/institutional initiatives and activities;
Participate in Faculty Development and skill/knowledge acquisition activities;
Participate and promote research that forwards the discipline both academically and clinically;
All medical records must be completed in accordance with NJMS and hospital policies including the completion of all medical records within 7 days of the date of service;
Complete all charge submissions with 14 days of the date of service;
Complete Medicare time studies or such other documents required for documenting services under the program and for documenting services as outlined in this letter; and
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chair.
