Your Role:
JOB SUMMARY
Operates the institutional Point of Care Testing monitors, the institution's cell salvaging systems, as well as operate the Rapid Infusion Systems during trauma and liver transplant procedures, or procedures in which the massive transfusion protocol is initiated with minimal guidance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of hemodynamics as it pertains to invasive line placement.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
• Anesthesiology/Anesthesia Technical Support (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrates capabilities as Anesthesia Technical Support. anesthesiology in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
• Procedures Knowledge (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate procedures knowledge in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
• Medical Terminology & Documentation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate medical terminology and documentation in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
• Equipment Maintenance (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to maintain equipment, products, or systems in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Assures that parts inventory is sufficient.
Position Shift:
  • FT Evening Shift: 2p-10:30p, M-F & FT Night Shift: 10p - 6:30a are both available due to departmental growth. Call and holiday rotations required.

The Vanderbilt Department of Anesthesiology embraces the anesthesia care team approach to patient care, involving anesthesiologists and residents, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), student registered nurse anesthetists (SRNAs) and anesthesia technicians. The department at Vanderbilt provides anesthesia for all types of surgical procedures, including cardiac, pediatrics, vascular, trauma, neurosurgery, plastics, radiologic, and special procedures.
