We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Civil Engineer to join our Miami office. This position offers an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience working with senior engineers on a wide variety of municipal and private infrastructure projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Florida Engineer Intern (E.I.) certification preferred or ability to obtain within one year.
- 1 - 2 years of experience in design and project support of civil infrastructure systems, including:
- Water Distribution Systems - Wastewater Collection and Transmission Systems - Pump Stations
- Roadway and Paving Improvements, Grading and Drainage Systems
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD required; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment on multiple assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience preparing engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Familiarity with Miami-Dade County agencies and municipal design standards.
- Experience coordinating with utility agencies and regulatory authorities.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software is a plus.
Primary Responsibilities
Working under the supervision of senior engineering staff, the selected candidate will participate in all phases of project development, including:
- Preparation of construction drawings, technical specifications, and engineers' estimates.
- Design calculations and technical evaluations, and coordination with project team members.
- Preparation of technical memoranda, reports, and permit applications.
- Assistance with agency permitting and regulatory coordination.
- Participation in project meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors.
- Review of shop drawings, submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Support during bidding and construction administration phases.
- Occasional field visits and construction observations.
