POSITION:                   TECH SUPPORT SPECIALIST
REPORTS TO:             REPORTS TO DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY
SUPERVISES:              NA
FLSA STATUS:            NON-EXEMPT POSITION
SALARY RANGE:        $21.50 - $26.23 HOURLY
WORK DAYS:               228
LOCATION:                  GATEWAY COLLEGE PREPARATORY SCHOOL, GEORGETOWN TEXAS 
POSITION SUMMARY:
 Reporting to the Director of Technology, this position provides essential support to IT personnel across diverse technology areas, encompassing PC workstations, networks, audio/visual systems, and peripherals for district campuses. The role involves resolving software and hardware requests and incidents using established policies and procedures, underpinned by an analytical mindset. The candidate is expected to be mobile, traveling to cities and facilities serviced by Orenda Education.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:










  •  Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware, peripherals, software, and basic data communications equipment in instructional and administrative environments.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues on Windows, Android, Chrome, and/or Mac/iOS platforms.
  • Configure Wireless LAN Controller to facilitate network connectivity for personal devices in a BYOD environment.
  • Troubleshoot a variety of personal devices running Windows, MacOS, Chrome OS, Linux, Android, and iOS in a BYOD environment.
  • Utilize knowledge of LAN/WAN functions to troubleshoot and resolve network access problems.
  • Place users and computer accounts into the proper organizational units specified by user roles.
  • Add users and apply group changes in email management console and other applications as needed.
  • Installation and configure desktop workstation hardware, operating system and application software, and peripherals.
  • Commission and decommission PC workstations as needed.
  • Perform system reporting of warrantied items and schedule part or system replacement.
  • Assist in diagnostics of warrantied or if necessary, systems without warranty for possible replacement.
  • Assist with management of district systems, including user account creation, password resets, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate IT inventory records.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software deployment and workstation imaging.
  • Provide on-site or remote technical support for computer hardware, peripherals, and approved software applications.
  • Assist personnel with updating and patching of operating system and application software.
  • Perform software and hardware upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software failure in a timely manner.
  • Perform and/or arrange for needed repairs to IT systems and peripherals.
  • Assist with event setup, configuration, and takedown of workstations, audio-visual equipment, and peripherals.
  • Manage multiple requests/projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Provide assistance to campuses/departments, including travel to multiple district locations.
  • Assist with ongoing projects as necessary.
  • Document internal procedures.
  • Must take proactive measures in his/her duties.

  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES REQUIRED:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Personal transportation to district sites.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in computer hardware and software utilities.

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware and software utilities.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+, or similar certifications are preferred.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

  •  Involves prolonged sitting, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, repetitive motions, and standing.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of up to fifty (50) lbs. and exertion of up to twenty-five (25) pounds of force to move objects.
  • Occasional climbing of ladders between 3 to 16 ft. in height.
  • Requires travel to multiple locations.
