DevOps Engineer III (Contract)

Location: Philadelphia, PA (Onsite 5 Days/Week)

Employment Type: W2, Long Term Contract

Overview

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer III to support wireless network performance initiatives and critical technology operations in a fast-paced enterprise environment. This role combines DevOps engineering, automation, cloud infrastructure, testing, analytics, and wireless device performance evaluation to help deliver high-quality customer experiences across mobile and wireless networks.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience with infrastructure automation, CI/CD, cloud technologies, containerization, systems operations, and wireless device testing within 4G/5G environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and support technical products, systems, and infrastructure solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production software and platform issues.
  • Develop monitoring, alerting, and operational support solutions to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Create and maintain standards, procedures, and metrics for product quality, testing, and release readiness.
  • Evaluate engineering designs and recommend improvements to products, processes, and operational procedures.
  • Automate software deployment and infrastructure provisioning across enterprise environments.
  • Support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) initiatives.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, QA teams, and operational stakeholders to maintain reliable system delivery.
  • Provision, deploy, and manage applications across virtualized and cloud-based infrastructures.
  • Support wireless network performance measurement activities across 4G, 5G, and Wi-Fi technologies.
  • Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans, and test cases focused on customer experience validation.
  • Collect, analyze, and triage logs from iOS and Android devices.
  • Perform data analysis and visualization to identify performance trends and network issues.
  • Conduct field testing and walk-testing activities to evaluate real-world user experiences.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing testing results, findings, and recommendations.
  • Coordinate debugging efforts between engineering teams, device manufacturers, and technology partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support successful product launches and business objectives.
  • Handle confidential information and proprietary projects in accordance with established policies and agreements.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of wireless technologies and mobile network architectures, including:
  • 4G LTE
  • 5G (SA, NSA, mmWave)
  • VoLTE
  • VoWiFi
  • RCS
  • SMS/MMS
  • Understanding of RRC and NAS protocol call flows.
  • Experience testing and certifying mobile devices in laboratory and field environments.
  • Hands-on experience with iOS and Android device testing.
  • Experience using device logging and diagnostic tools such as:
  • XCAL
  • XCAP
  • QXDM
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools such as:
  • Tableau
  • Databricks
  • Cloud-based analytics platforms
  • Experience communicating technical findings to engineering teams, device manufacturers, and external technology partners.
