About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Android Developer with extensive experience building high-performance consumer mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, modern Android architecture, and location-based services, along with a strong track record of delivering scalable, user-focused applications.

This role will involve leading Android development initiatives, mentoring engineers, driving technical decisions, and contributing to the design and implementation of next-generation mobile experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Lead the development of scalable, high-quality mobile solutions aligned with business and user requirements.
  • Build and enhance location-based features using mapping technologies such as Google Maps, HERE Maps, or Mapbox.
  • Develop and consume RESTful APIs and integrate backend services into mobile applications.
  • Ensure application performance, reliability, responsiveness, and maintainability.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews and promote best practices, coding standards, and architectural consistency.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute innovative technical solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, QA, and backend teams throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Support CI/CD processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and Agile ceremonies.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years of Android application development experience.
  • Proven experience publishing and maintaining applications on the Google Play Store.
  • Strong expertise in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Experience building location-aware applications using Google Maps, HERE Maps, Mapbox, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Android Studio, Gradle, and Java.
  • Experience with MVC, MVVM, VIPER, and modern mobile architecture patterns.
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and SOLID principles.
  • Experience building consumer-facing mobile applications.
  • Strong experience integrating RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Good understanding of Material Design principles and implementation.
  • Experience using Git and source control best practices.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and mobile deployment processes.
