RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client seeking a hybrid Lead App Engineer to join their team in Sandy Springs, GA.
Summary:
The Lead App Engineer will provide hands-on technical leadership for the Digital Platform mobile application team, supporting iOS and Android experiences across multiple brands. This role will lead the development and evolution of our React Native mobile apps, drive platform quality, improve release readiness, and help establish scalable mobile engineering standards across a complex enterprise digital ordering ecosystem.
This role will be accountable for driving delivery through a hybrid model of internal resources and offshore vendor teams, ensuring external partner work meet standards for quality, predictability, transparency, and engineering excellence.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on mobile engineering leader who can balance architecture, delivery, code quality, production stability, offshore delivery accountability, and cross-functional collaboration. This person will work closely with Product, Design, Web, API, QA, Architecture, DevOps/SRE, and vendor partners to deliver high-quality app experiences that support ordering, loyalty, promotions, payments, location selection, and other customer-facing capabilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
* 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant focus on mobile application development
* 3+ years of experience leading technical delivery, mentoring engineers, or serving as a senior technical owner
* Strong hands-on experience with React Native, JavaScript, TypeScript, and mobile application development for iOS and Android
* Experience building and supporting customer-facing mobile apps at scale
* Strong understanding of mobile architecture, state management, API integration, app performance, offline/error handling, push notifications, deep linking, and mobile UX patterns
* Experience with REST and/or GraphQL API integrations
* Experience with Git-based workflows, PR reviews, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile/Scrum delivery
* Experience supporting app releases, app store submission processes, production defects, and release readiness
* Experience working with offshore engineering teams, vendor partners, or distributed delivery models
* Ability to drive technical execution through both internal and external engineering resources
* Proven ability to hold partner teams accountable for delivery quality, timelines, engineering standards, defect resolution, and release commitments
* Ability to partner effectively with Product, Design, QA, API, Web, Architecture, and vendor teams
* Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-brand or multi-product delivery environmen
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
