As a Software Engineer Principal within PNC's Retail Tech organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Birmingham, AL or Lakewood, CO.

Key Responsibilities Full Stack Development
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and modern web technologies.
  • Build scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
  • Develop responsive and intuitive user interfaces using Angular, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.
  • Design and optimize relational and NoSQL database solutions.
  • Integrate applications with internal and external APIs and third-party services.
  • Participate in application architecture, design reviews, and technical planning sessions.
Mobile Application Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications for: oiOS (Swift and/or Objective-C) and/or oAndroid (Kotlin and/or Java)
  • Develop and consume RESTful APIs for mobile applications.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Optimize applications for performance, reliability, and user experience.
  • Support deployment through Apple App Store and Google Play Store release processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mobile production issues.
DevOps & Quality
  • Develop automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Participate in CI/CD pipeline development and automation.
  • Perform code reviews and enforce development best practices.
  • Monitor and improve application performance and security.
  • Support cloud-native deployments and containerized environments.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • 3+ years of experience developing Java enterprise applications.

Base Salary: $91,000.00 - $202,000.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
