Job description

Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties. The base rate for this position starts at $20.72 per hour (with $1.50 per hour shift differential) and could increase up to $24.04 per hour as skills are mastered.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES; other duties may be assigned.

  • Upholds Andis Core Values in all work-related activities.
  • Read work orders or follow oral instructions to ensure materials or containers to be moved. Open containers.
  • Safely loads and unloads by hand or with industrial truck or electric hoist, materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment.
  • Safely loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
  • Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled.
  • Attaches identifying tags of labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
  • Process packages through computer manifest system as required.
  • Obtain printed barcoded labels and apply to master cartons.
  • Utilize handheld computer devices to perform inventory transactions.
  • Follow proper procedure regarding receiving goods and MSDS.
  • Occasionally operates company vehicle to complete out of plant duties (i.e., mail runs) for authorized drivers only.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in using warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) is preferred.
  • Good dexterity and attention to detail.
