In addition to our recent growth in Federal Civilian agencies, we are seeking to expand our capabilities in cloud development and footprint in national-security focused agencies within the Department of Defense and U.S. Intelligence Community.
We are seeking to hire a Mid-level Quality Assurance Engineer to our team!
Client:
CTEC develops and delivers innovative customer-centric technologies and solutions that support the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) Health and Insurance business unit and Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Test Planning & Execution: Develop, document, and execute manual and automated test cases to validate software functionality, data accuracy, and system behavior against requirements.
  • Requirements & User Story Validation: Collaborate with business analysts and development teams to understand requirements and user stories, ensuring appropriate test coverage and traceability.
  • Defect Management: Identify, document, track, and validate resolution of defects using lifecycle management tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Test Automation: Create and maintain automated test scripts and regression test suites to improve testing efficiency and repeatability.
  • Accessibility & 508 Compliance Testing: Perform Section 508 and accessibility compliance testing using tools such as ANDI, Color Contrast Checker, CommonLook, or similar accessibility evaluation tools to ensure applications meet federal accessibility standards.
  • Performance & Integration Testing Support: Assist in performance, integration, and system testing activities to ensure software meets functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Reporting & Communication: Generate test reports, document findings, and communicate testing status and risks to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Agile Participation: Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to support continuous delivery.
  • Continuous Process Improvement: Contribute to improving QA processes, test methodologies, and automation practices.
  • Works under moderate supervision with guidance from senior personnel.

Skills & Work Experience:
  • Professional Experience: At least three (3+) years of experience in software quality assurance, testing, or related roles.
  • Experience developing and executing manual and automated test cases.
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps (or similar tools) for test case management, defect tracking, and sprint-based workflows.
  • Familiarity with SDLC methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
  • Experience performing Section 508 / accessibility compliance testing using tools such as ANDI, Color Contrast Checker, CommonLook, or similar.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and project managers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:
  • Experience supporting U.S. federal government IT systems or modernization programs.
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter or similar.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build and release workflows.
  • Experience testing data-driven or cloud-hosted applications.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Clearance:
Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
