Join Us in Providing Safety, Stability, and Hope -- At Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch (YBGR), our mission is to inspire hope and healing in youth and families. As a Night Mental Health Worker, you play a vital role in that mission by ensuring a safe, calm, and supportive environment during the nighttime hours-when youth are often most vulnerable.
This is more than an overnight position. It's an opportunity to be a steady, positive presence in the lives of young people who need consistency, compassion, and care. If you're dependable, empathetic, and driven to make a meaningful impact, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
  • Conduct scheduled bed checks every 15-30 minutes to ensure youth safety and well-being
  • Maintain a clean, organized lodge office and assist with laundry and linens
  • Provide positive interaction and support to youth during overnight hours
  • Communicate effectively with day staff to ensure smooth continuity of care
  • Complete required documentation, chart audits, and filing
  • Respond appropriately in crisis or high-stress situations
  • Participate in monthly coaching and supervision
  • Uphold YBGR's mission, values, and safety standards
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development
Compensation & Benefits:
Starting salary range: $19.21-$21.62 per hour, based on education and relevant experience. This reflects steps 1-5 of an 11-step pay schedule. YBGR offers ongoing training, opportunities for advancement, and a supportive, mission-driven team culture.

Required Qualifications:
  • At least 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass a criminal background and child abuse registry check (Montana)

Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Primarily indoor environment, with occasional outdoor duties
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods
  • Frequent use of computers and office equipment
  • Must be physically able to assist in crisis interventions involving youth (up to 300 lbs)
  • High-stress tolerance and ability to de-escalate difficult situations
  • Must perceive and respond to verbal and non-verbal cues effectively
