Job description

Austin Peay State University is currently seeking part-time, temporary, adjunct instructors in the area of Philosophy and Religion. Need teachers with PhDs in Philosophy or Religious Studies to cover upper division courses in Logic, Ancient Philosophy, Medieval Philosophy, Western Religions, Islam, and Eastern Religions. Also will teach Introduction to Philosophy, Introduction to Ethics, and World Religions. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

- Teach Logic, Ancient Philosophy, Medieval Philosophy, Western Religions, Islam, and Eastern Religions. 

- Will also teach Introduction to Philosophy, Introduction to Ethics, and World Religions. 

- Assistance with advising and recruitment is also expected although not compensated. 

Physical Requirements 

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. 

Required Minimum Qualifications 

- MA in Philosophy or Religious Studies or in a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Philosophy or Religious Studies. 

- A background search will be required of the successful applicant.
