Job description

Overview
The College of Veterinary Medicine is hiring a Student Employee for our Pathobiology Clinical Pathology Lab. The role involves performing analyses, tests, and diagnostic procedures in a medical laboratory.
Responsibilities
  • Conducts chemical analysis of specimens, including blood and urine to determine presence of normal and abnormal components.
    Prepares and stains cytological and fluid specimens.
  • Operates equipment used in quantitative analysis.
  • Enters data from analysis of medical test and clinical results into the data management system.
  • Responsible for properly closing down instruments and lab at night if working the late evening shift. This includes securing lab and performing shut-down of chemistry analyzer.
  • Proper storing of blood and urine samples that have been collected and received during the evening shifts for possible further analysis the following day.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled Auburn University student.
  • Open to Pre-Vet students, Animal Dairy Science majors, COSAM majors, first-third year vet students and anyone interested in applying to a veterinary program.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Vet experience is a plus but not needed, as we provide training.
