The Edgewater Police Department is seeking enthusiastic and team-oriented individuals to immediately fill the position of
POST-Certified Police Officer. The City of Edgewater is a city of approximately 5,000 residents nestled between the cities of Denver, Wheat Ridge, and Lakewood. Edgewater offers a unique small-town atmosphere within minutes of the downtown Denver area.

Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
โ€ข Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
โ€ข Thorough understanding of police and investigative procedures, processes, and techniques.
โ€ข Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
โ€ข Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
โ€ข Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
โ€ข Extensive knowledge of criminal law and procedure.
โ€ข Ability to correctly and safely handle and operate weapons and police equipment.
โ€ข Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
โ€ข Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn investigative tools, applications, and software.
Education and Experience:
โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Political Science, Public Administration, or related field preferred.
โ€ข Graduation from police academy (Colorado POST certified) or currently in academy.
