Job description

Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Product Engineer – Equipment role in Biddeford, ME. Our client is a well-established industry leader known for innovation and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineered products and equipment solutions. With a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence, they pride themselves on developing reliable equipment systems that support manufacturing efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
· Design, develop, and improve production equipment and mechanical systems to support manufacturing operations and product performance.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and supply chain to identify equipment needs and implement engineering solutions.
· Troubleshoot equipment issues, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
· Support equipment installation, testing, validation, and commissioning activities.
· Create and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, SOPs, and maintenance procedures.
· Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and recommend improvements focused on efficiency, safety, quality, and cost reduction.
· Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding equipment specifications, procurement, and technical support.
· Ensure compliance with safety standards, engineering best practices, and company policies throughout all project phases.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support lean manufacturing efforts.
· Provide technical guidance and training to production and maintenance teams as needed.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
· Previous experience in equipment engineering, manufacturing engineering, or product engineering preferred.
· Strong understanding of mechanical systems, production equipment, and manufacturing processes.
· Experience with CAD software and engineering documentation preferred.
· Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across departments.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Knowledge of safety standards, lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
