Job description

LeachGarner is seeking an experienced Lab Technician to join the Assay Laboratory team at our manufacturing facility in Attleboro. In this role, you'll be responsible for measuring chemical compositions of a wide variety of solid and liquid samples using wet chemistry, fire assay, and instrumentation methods. This role is a great opportunity for candidates who are already familiar with lab safety practices, sample handling, and precise measurement that are looking to expand their technical skills. Fire Assay experience is not required; we will train you.

What You’ll Do

  • Run day-to-day lab operations and ensure smooth workflow
  • Prepare, track and analyze samples with a high level of accuracy
  • Operate and maintain analytical instruments (ICP, AA, XRF, titrators, etc.)
  • Perform wet chemistry processes such as gravimetric analysis and acid digestion
  • Conduct fire assay procedures, including weighing, furnace work, and sample preparation
  • Record results and maintain data in ERP systems
  • Ensure quality, precision, and timely turnaround of assay results
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lab environment

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of hands-on laboratory experience (metals, chemistry, or assay experience preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely
  • Comfortable working with chemicals, high temperatures, and lab equipment
  • Basic math skills and confidence using computers and data systems
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under deadlines
  • Team player with a proactive, reliable mindset
  • Comfortable working in a lab within a manufacturing environment

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production laboratory highly preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP or laboratory information systems
  • Exposure to materials testing, precious metals, or assay environments

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role operates in a manufacturing facility where conditions may include exposure to loud noise, fluctuating temperatures (hot or cold), and moving machinery.

  • Hands-on work with chemicals and laboratory equipment
  • Work in warm or high-temperature laboratory areas
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 30 pounds
  • Mandatory use of PPE in accordance with safety requirements at all times

Location: On-site in Attleboro, MA

Schedule: Full-time, 5:30 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Thursday

Pay range: $22 - $28/hour

This range represents the hourly wage the Company reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at the time of posting, in compliance with Massachusetts law. Actual pay within the range will be determined based on relevant experience, education, demonstrated skills, internal equity, and business needs.
