Job description

Yamaha Motor Finance US has an exciting opportunity for a strong Risk & Analytics Manager to lead strategic analysis within the Analytics Center of Excellence. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, building analytical and statistical methods to evaluate portfolio decisions, investigating loss performance factors, developing operations strategy and supporting CRM analytics. This role will manage and develop a team of up to 3 analysts and provide critical insights to support YMFUS' Credit Risk and business strategies. Key areas of focus include originations, portfolio management strategy/criteria design, vintage analysis, portfolio segmentation, operations strategy, demographic analysis, and modeling to optimize portfolio performance.
What you'll be doing:
  • Manage and develop a team of up to 3 risk and strategy analysts to provide analytical and reporting support across all YMFUS functions including Risk, Accounting, Operations, Compliance, Sales, Marketing, and FP&A.
  • Drive key business initiatives including strategy design and optimization through quantitative analysis, statistical modeling, and performance monitoring across the finance portfolio.
  • Apply advanced technical and analytical approaches to develop and refine management strategies. Conduct in-depth analyses to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Use Data Mining, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies to evaluate and enhance business performance.
  • Design and implement business strategies and evaluate their effectiveness through post-implementation tracking and analysis of performance outcomes.
  • Build and maintain processes for tracking, forecasting, and managing portfolio performance, while supporting financing programs and ensuring effective coordination with vendors, dealers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on strategic initiatives, including scorecard development, decision engine optimization, and system enhancements. Gather and define requirements with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Evaluate the adequacy of internal processes to minimize regulatory exposure, drive efficiency, and reduce credit risk losses.
  • Create reports or dashboards as needed.

What you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of analytical work experience, including some leadership or managerial responsibility.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to explain analytics findings to Senior Management
  • Interpersonal and planning skills with the ability to interact seamlessly with all levels of management.
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferences:
  • Coding experience (ex. SQL, SAS, Python)
  • Proven experience in offering thought leadership to solve business problems
  • Experience in Auto, Motorcycle, or other consumer lending
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
