Industry UsageCommonly found in analytics teams, business intelligence, and data-driven decision-making rolesPrimarily in data infrastructure, big data projects, and data platform development

In summary, Analytic Engineers focus on transforming data into insights through analysis and modeling, while Data Engineers build the infrastructure to support data collection and storage. Both roles are essential in data teams but serve different functions within the data ecosystem.

What do you mean by analytic?

In the context of an Analytic Engineer role, an analytic refers to the process of examining data to uncover insights, patterns, and trends that support business decision-making. It involves using statistical methods, data visualization tools, and programming skills to interpret large datasets and generate actionable reports.

What does it mean if someone is analytic?

They often work with tools like SQL, Python, or data visualization software to support decision-making and improve business processes.

Is analytic a good ability in Pokémon?

In the context of an Analytic Engineer, analytical skills are highly valuable for interpreting data, identifying patterns, and making data-driven decisions. While 'analytic' as a skill is relevant in many fields, in Pokémon, it refers to a game mechanic that increases damage when the opponent is hit after being attacked, which is unrelated to professional skills. Therefore, analytical ability is beneficial for data roles but not applicable to Pokémon gameplay mechanics.

We provide thought leadership for complex issues through independent analysis, and we deliver practical, useful solutions. ANSER values collaboration, integrity, and initiative and we are client focused in all that we do. Because we were established for the purpose of public service and not for profit, we measure our success in the impact of our service.
Position Summary
ANSER is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the architecture, integration, and lifecycle management of biometric collection and processing systems for DoD mission environments. In this role, you will lead and support end-to-end systems engineering activities across hardware, software, networking, and human-system interfaces while ensuring secure integration of biometric capabilities. You will support the integration of GOTS and COTS technologies in connected and disconnected operational environments and ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements, RMF standards, and NIST guidelines. You will also provide technical leadership for system architecture development, design reviews, configuration management, and program milestone support activities.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Lead and support end-to-end systems architecture development for biometric collection and processing systems.
  • Review and support DoDAF operational and system views to ensure integration of BAT-A, NRTIO, and NXGBCC into a unified biometric capability.
  • Integrate GOTS and COTS products into secure connected and disconnected operational environments.
  • Support technical, requirements, design, and milestone reviews throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Provide engineering analysis, schedules, and technical recommendations to support government program goals and milestones.
  • Assess and support compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF requirements, and NIST standards.
  • Support software integration and testing activities, including development and execution of test plans and scripts.
  • Maintain system configuration control and ensure associated engineering documentation remains current and compliant.
  • Support program reviews by providing system design updates, product improvement schedules, and engineering status reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration, sustainment, and operational readiness activities.

Required Qualifications
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in systems engineering.
  • Experience supporting software integration or testing activities, including test plan and test script development.
  • Understanding of ANSI/NIST ITL standards and DoD Electronic Biometric Transmission Specification (EBTS) requirements.
  • Familiarity with biometric systems and biometric data processing environments.
  • Knowledge of system-of-systems engineering principles and integration directorate processes.
  • Experience with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD tools and practices.
  • Experience supporting system architecture development, technical reviews, and engineering lifecycle activities.
  • Familiarity with RMF, NIST cybersecurity standards, and secure systems engineering principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and technical communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Army or DoD biometric modernization initiatives.
  • Familiarity with disconnected, tactical, or expeditionary operating environments.
  • Experience integrating biometric systems across enterprise or cloud-based architectures.
  • Familiarity with DoDAF architecture development and model-based systems engineering concepts.
