Job description

Resonant Sciences LLC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Analysis Engineer to support and advance our growing wargaming and operational analysis (OA) efforts. This position provides an opportunity to join an elite team and enhance the performance of an organization whose primary mission is to support our nation's War Fighters. The ideal candidate is a rare blend of hands-on analyst and strategic thinker – someone who can execute rigorous, data-driven studies while also helping chart the path for how the company applies operations analysis to inform strategic direction, technical roadmaps, and long-term vision. This position is well-suited for a self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, is comfortable with ambiguity, and can operate within leadership intent to help expand the OA capability at Resonant Sciences. The candidate for this position can sit either in Dayton, OH or Denver, CO.
The candidate must have strong technical skills in mission and engagement-level modeling, simulation, and data analysis, as well as an ability to think broadly about technology applications, emerging threats, and operational relevance. Primary mission/technology areas include but not limited to platform survivability, weapon systems, electronic warfare, electronic protection, Precision Navigation and Timing (PNT), advanced radar systems, and EO/IR sensing. The candidate must be comfortable in quantifying the mission effectiveness of Resonant Sciences technologies using analytical frameworks such as AFSIM (preferred), BRAWLER, SUPPRESSOR, STORM, STK, and VTK. Inherent in this expertise is an ability to develop unique software tool sets and custom plug-in’s for when there are limitations in existing frameworks. The candidate should also have an appropriate level of expertise and engineering skills to work collaboratively with the engineering / technical development team to fully understand and contribute to system design and architecture, performance modeling, platform integration, and flight testing.
This role offers the unique opportunity to shape an organization while remaining deeply engaged in technical work – from model development to trade studies to running designs of experiments. You’ll own and lead studies that directly inform overall strategy and technical direction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Operations Analysis Engineer will lead the modeling, simulation, and analysis of complex military systems to quantify the impact of Resonant Sciences technologies on operational concepts (CONOPS), system design, tactics, weapon employment, and platform survivability.
The selected Operations Analysis Engineer will have the responsibility of the following areas:
  • Conduct studies supporting requirements definition, concept of employment (CONEMP) evaluation, operational and cost effectiveness, and military utility assessments.
  • Translate mission-level insight into engineering design decisions by participating in architecture trade studies and system performance optimization.
  • Create physics-based models of government amp; other military systems, leveraging your domain expertise and engineering judgement to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in mission employment, end-to-end kill chain modeling, and emerging air- and ground-based threat systems.
  • Prepare and present clear technical briefings to executive leadership, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to internal team development and growth, process improvement, and long-term analytical strategy.
  • Support the Director of Operations Analysis in shaping strategic vision, hiring, and meeting business objectives.
  • Assist with technical proposal development and new business capture.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics plus 8+ years of relevant experience in operations analysis, mission design, or weapon system development.
  • Proven experience with USG modeling and simulation tools such as AFSIM, SUPRESSOR, BRAWLER, STORM, RADGUNS, VTK, STK, or similar.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, C++, or comparable programming languages.
  • Working knowledge of OCA/DCA, ISR, SEAD/DEAD, Electronic Attack, or Long-Range Fires missions.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute complex analytical tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – able to translate mission insight into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to guide small teams and integrate across engineering and analysis domains.
  • Passion for national defense, mission-driven technology, and solving complex problems that directly impact the warfighter.
  • Willingness to travel in support of program reviews, testing, or customer engagements.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Experience with campaign-level simulation environments.
  • Prior AFSIM plug-in development experience.
  • Expertise in Electronic Warfare, Precision Navigation and Timing, EO/IR sensors, and/or Platform Survivability.
  • Experience in proposal development, customer engagements, or new business capture.
  • Prior experience working with sensitive, classified areas and programs.
  • Prior military service, operational planning, or joint staff experience a strong plus – practical experience with doctrine, joint operations, force planning, or combatant command requirements.
  • Desire to shape analytical culture and capability within a rapidly growing, mission-focused organization.
CITIZENSHIP/SECURITY CLEARANCE:
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Current/active U.S. DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. Preference toward candidates with current/prior Special Access Program (SAP) experience.
