Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conducts legal and business research in for attorneys, clients and staff.
  • Analyzes and synthesizes research findings into clear, concise, and actionable work product.
  • Develops and maintains current awareness tracking and monitoring.
  • Participates in the department's research intake process, conducting reference interviews and responding to research requests through the firm's workflow system.
  • Designs and delivers one annual training on legal research resources and research strategies.
  • Assists attorneys and business professionals in the effective use of legal research, analytics, and AI-enabled tools.
  • Participates in the evaluation of research resources, analytics platforms, and emerging technologies.
  • Maintains awareness of developments in legal research, legal technology, and artificial intelligence.
  • Participates in departmental meetings, projects, and other initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • MLS, MLIS, or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience conducting legal and business research in a large law firm or similar or professional services environment.
  • Strong client service orientation and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business productivity tools.
  • Advanced proficiency with Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, and PACER.
  • Experience with legal analytics and research resources such as Lex Machina, Practical Law, VitalLaw, Checkpoint, Capital IQ, PitchBook, Intelligize, CourtLink, Docket Alarm, Courthouse News, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with generative AI and AI-enhanced legal research tools.
  • Experience developing and delivering training programs or presentations preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of firm and client information.

The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skill set, and geographic location
