Location: Houston, TX
Responsibilities
• With guidance will analyze, interpret, input, and update surface-related lease and contract data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
• Assist with working monthly calendars for all payments, expirations, and obligations associated with surface assets.
• Assist surface-related Land Operations Teams as requested.
• Learn to identify and track contractual obligations associated with surface acquisitions, trades and divestitures.
• Assist department with special projects including Acquisition & Divestitures, coordinating largescale data quality initiatives affiliated with surface assets.
• Learn to interpret contracts and leases for all properties, identifying and resolving technical, data-related and process/procedural issues.
• Assist in the process and tracking of partner offerings and perform necessary record keeping.
• Assist in the preparation of agreement exhibits, and lease/acreage reports for business units and upper management.
• May serve as a point of contact for landowners and other stakeholders, resolving issues about property status and land administration procedure.
• Maintain affiliations with local/national associations and is an active participant through attending meetings and networking events on a frequent basis.
• Collaborate with all teams within our organization, including other teams within Land Administration, Land Operations, Accounting, and Legal.
• Handle assigned tasks thoroughly and efficiently.
• Demonstrate strong accountability for actions, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
• Drive results by taking ownership of projects and tasks, consistently meeting deadlines and targets.
• Collaborate with team members to conceptualize, plan, and implement strategies that enhance data integrity, contract management, and acreage prioritization.
• Innovate new ways to analyze and present data, provide fresh insights to management and stakeholders.
• Participate in the design and execution of comprehensive plans for surface asset management, ensuring alignment with management goals.
• Drive the identification and prioritization of surface asset projects, fostering a culture of strategic thinking and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and willing to learn other computer applications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal - and willing to exercise these skills.
• Knowledge of Quorum Land System/SAP experience a plus.
• Ability to work under deadlines and sometimes on multiple projects.
• Handle confidential and proprietary company data and information.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Knowledge of basic land principles and their application with the ability to analyze land data for the entry into the land data management system.
• General understanding of land terminology, contracts, and their uses with the ability to work on projects of increased complexity under general direction.
• 8 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree.
• Proven track record of contributing effectively to a team while working collaboratively as a team player and independently with high levels of autonomy.
• Strong sense of responsibility and accountability for deliverables, actions, and behaviors.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing situations.
