Location: Burlington, CAN (HYBRID) 2 days remote and 3 days in Burlington office
Job Summary:
Semtech is looking for a numbers savvy Financial/Market Analyst Intern! The Financial/Market Analyst Intern will be involved with all phases of planning, forecasting, financial control, reporting, analysis, financial modeling, and also participate on various projects. In this position, you will be required to proactively collaborate with the business in driving improved financial results as well as ensuring efficient and effective use of working capital.
Responsibilities:

  • Preparation, analysis, and reporting of various financial reports for the business on a routine basis.

  • Planning and forecasting for the SIP business unit (including sales, margin, operating expenses) and supporting the marketing team in research and new product introduction KPI analysis

  • Ad hoc analysis and reporting for decision support.

  • Help with periodic variance analysis of budgeted, forecasted, and actual financial performance, clearly interpreting and documenting variance drivers (margin analysis).

  • Support and understand strategic goals and product lines of the SIP Division to help achieve their ABP.

  • Execute ad-hoc financial/quantitative analysis and various reporting requests in support of divisional and corporate managers.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Finance

  • As this is an internship position for students, it is not expected that they have previous job experience related to the position.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office with intermediate excel skills (Vlookups & Pivot Tables).

  • Detail oriented mindset, strong data analysis skills; financial/business modeling experience a plus.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Self-motivated with strong collaboration skills to develop effective working relationships with local and extended teams.

  • Ability to prioritize based on opportunities and effectively multitask.

  • Flexibility: someone who is adaptive to frequent changes in priorities, organization, and strategy; flexible to deadlines with short lead times.
