SPENCER STUART'S ANALYST INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Every leadership decision has the potential to shape organizations, industries, and communities. At Spencer Stuart, Analyst Interns gain firsthand exposure to the work behind identifying, assessing, and developing leaders for some of the world's most influential organizations.

As an Analyst Intern, you will join a fast-paced, intellectually engaging environment where you will work alongside leadership advisors and industry experts supporting organizations as they navigate critical leadership decisions. Throughout the summer, interns gain exposure to a broad range of leadership advisory services, including executive search, leadership assessment, succession planning, organizational effectiveness, board work, and corporate governance, while developing valuable research, analytical, and communication skills.

The Summer Analyst Internship Program is designed to provide a meaningful introduction to both the leadership advisory profession and life at Spencer Stuart. Through hands-on project work, training sessions, mentorship, and professional development opportunities, interns deepen their understanding of executive recruitment and leadership consulting while building foundational skills that will benefit them throughout their future careers. Our goal is for each intern to leave the program with a stronger understanding of the industry, enhanced professional skills, and a clearer perspective on the impact leadership advisors have on organizations around the world.

High-performing Analyst Interns may be considered for a full-time Analyst opportunity upon graduation. In fact, many of our current Analysts began their careers as Summer Analyst Interns, making the program an ideal pathway into the Firm and an opportunity to build lasting relationships with colleagues across practices, industries, and offices.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SPENCER STUART ANALYST INTERN

Throughout the summer, Analyst Interns contribute to meaningful work that supports both internal strategic initiatives and active client engagements. Through these experiences, they gain practical exposure to executive search, leadership advisory, and the leadership decisions that shape organizations around the world.

Analyst Interns may:

  • Conduct executive, company, and industry research and analysis

  • Support active client engagements and business development initiatives

  • Develop presentations, reports, and other thought leadership materials

  • Network and interact with colleagues across practices, industries, and functions, including firm leaders and partners

Every Analyst Intern completes both an individual project and a collaborative team project. These projects are designed to deliver meaningful value to the Firm while providing Analyst Interns with ownership and exposure to topics aligned with their interests. Project work may include conducting market research, analyzing industry trends, creating thought leadership content, supporting business development efforts, or developing resources that enhance practice knowledge and collaboration. At the conclusion of the internship, interns present their work and key learnings to office leadership and colleagues, showcasing the contributions they have made throughout the summer.

A DEDICATED SUPPORT NETWORK

We believe meaningful development requires thoughtful support. Every Analyst Intern is paired with an Advisor, Mentor, and Buddy who provide guidance, coaching, and serve as a trusted resource throughout the summer program.

This dedicated support network helps facilitate a seamless onboarding experience while providing ongoing professional and personal support throughout the program. Analyst Interns receive both formal and informal feedback, including structured mid-program and end-of-program evaluations, as well as regular coaching from their project teams and program leadership.

Through their work and development experiences, Analyst Interns can expect to strengthen skills in:

  • Research and analysis

  • Business writing and communication

  • Effective use of AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to support research, analysis, and productivity

  • Stakeholder management

  • Project management
