Job description

The Senior Developer is a key role in Virtus's growing Tech/Dev practice. They have a strong technical understanding of writing code in different languages, analyzing data, and contributing to the design and implementation of software. The Sr Dev will be hands-on while overseeing and mentoring junior developers on projects. This candidate should be quick to create innovative solutions to business challenges. To be a successful Virtus Sr Dev, you should demonstrate great skill in creativity and innovation, ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment, and possess excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities + Qualifications:

    • At least 5 years experience in Software Development / 1-2 years of experience in Software Development team leadership and management.
    • Experience with .net, nextjs, typescript, c++, python, etc...
    • Ability to design, evaluate, and implement complex solutions to meet client business needs.
    • Extensive experience in Agile and Scrum methodologies, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
    • Ability to set clear goals and objectives that align with the overall business strategy.
    • Strong decision-making skills under pressure, prioritizing tasks and directing the team accordingly.
    • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and technical concepts to business or project stakeholders as well as within the development team.
    • Comfortable working in and managing teams under high-pressure conditions, tight deadlines, and changing priorities.
    • Comfortable with live problem solving in workshops, focused on resolution of an issue.
    • Creativity in solving complex problems and implementing solutions that are robust and scalable.
    • Understanding of how development projects fit into larger business objectives and ability to communicate this perspective to the team.
    • Skilled in managing expectations and building relationships with client stakeholders at various levels.
