This is a full-time position with various hours; weekend availability is required.

SUMMARY:
The Expediter role is responsible for the smooth and efficient flow of food from the kitchen to the dining room while maintaining the restaurant's standards for quality, accuracy, presentation, and timing. This role acts as the key communication link between the culinary and front-of-house teams by coordinating ticket flow, organizing plating, verifying order accuracy, and maintaining urgency during service. The Expediter supports a high level of guest satisfaction by ensuring every dish leaves the kitchen complete, properly presented, and delivered in a timely manner. The Expediter fosters teamwork, professionalism, and clear communication throughout service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordinate and manage the flow of food orders between the kitchen and front-of-house team during service
  • Organize and prioritize tickets to ensure accurate timing and efficient execution of all orders
  • Inspect all plates for presentation, accuracy, portioning, and quality standards before leaving the kitchen
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with chefs, line cooks, servers, bartenders, server assistants, and leadership throughout service
  • Ensure all modifiers, allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests are executed correctly
  • Maintain strong awareness of ticket times and assist in pacing courses appropriately
  • Call and direct servers and server assistants for organized food delivery to guests
  • Monitor kitchen readiness and communicate any delays, shortages, and any other concerns to management and service staff
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the Expo line and surrounding work areas
  • Support teamwork and maintain composure in a fast paced, high-volume environment
  • Uphold restaurant standards for hospitality, professionalism, urgency, and guest satisfaction
  • Assist with setup, stocking, and breakdown of the Expediter station before and after service
  • Ensure proper garnishes, sauces, accompaniments, and final touches are included with each dish
  • Help minimize errors, re-fires, waste, and inconsistencies through proactive communication and attention to detail
  • Follow all company safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures consistent with local health regulations
  • Ability to read, follow, and implement written and verbal instructions
  • Be properly dressed in uniform and maintain a clean and professional appearance throughout your shift
  • Assist in training new employees and managers regarding the scope of the duties of your position
  • Attend pre-shift meetings and retain information presented in those meetings
  • Perform in house janitorial cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal and general cleanliness duties as directed by the management team

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • 6 months to 1 year restaurant or culinary experience required
  • Experience in upscale or high-volume restaurant environments preferred
  • High School Diploma
  • ServeSafe Food Handler or Food Manager certification preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to stand and move continuously for extended periods during shifts, up to 8 hours per day
