About the Opportunity:
Adena Corporation is seeking an IT Support Technician to join our team in Lakeland, Florida. As the primary on-site IT resource for our main Florida office, this position provides hands-on technical support to employees while working closely with our Ohio-based IT team and Managed Service Provider (MSP).
The ideal candidate will have experience providing technical support in a professional environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service, teamwork, problem-solving, and continuous learning. Our teams deliver complex projects across the country with a strong commitment to safety, quality, craftsmanship, and our people.
Primary Job responsibilities:
  1. Serve as the primary on-site IT resource for the Lakeland office, providing hands-on technical support for hardware, software, mobile devices, printers, and related technology issues.
  2. Respond to and resolve IT support requests for employees across multiple office locations using remote support tools and the company ticketing system.
  3. Install, configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and related technology equipment.
  4. Provide first-level support for business applications, including Microsoft 365, Sage Timberline, Vista Viewpoint, and other company software systems.
  5. Assist with user account management, onboarding and offboarding activities, asset inventory tracking, and routine IT administrative tasks.
  6. Support the Network Administrator and MSP with system upgrades, security initiatives, equipment deployments, office expansions, and other IT projects.
  7. Adhere to company safety policies and applicable OSHA requirements.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
  1. High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent coursework/experience) is a plus.
  2. 1-2 years of IT support, help desk, or related experience; internships, coursework, or strong personal/home-lab experience will be considered.
  3. Working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office 365, and common PC hardware and peripherals.
  4. Familiarity with basic networking concepts (Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, printers, cabling) is a plus.
  5. Exposure to Active Directory, macOS, or mobile device setup is a plus, but not required - we will train the right candidate.
  6. CompTIA A+ certification (or willingness to obtain within the first year) is strongly preferred; Network+ or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
  7. Comfortable providing support both in person and remotely by phone, email, and remote desktop tools.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  9. Strong customer-service mindset with patience, professionalism, and a genuine desire to help people.
  10. Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and follow through on multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
  11. Eagerness to learn new systems and grow into greater responsibility within the IT team.
  12. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required; occasional travel to other office locations may be needed.
  13. Ability to lift and move computer equipment (up to approximately 50 lbs.) as needed.
