Overview

The Role

We are looking for a seasoned, hands-on Senior Mechanic to serve as the mechanical backbone of our California park properties. This is a multi-site role spanning Castle Park and our Boomers Family Entertainment Centers across the state. You will develop and drive our preventative maintenance program, keep rides and attractions operating safely and reliably, lead a team of mechanics across the region, and be the person park leadership calls when something needs to get done right. This is not a sit-at-a-desk role; you are in the field, under the hood, and on the floor.

What You'll Do

Preventative Maintenance and Inspections
  • Develop, maintain, and execute a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule across all California park locations
  • Perform routine and periodic safety inspections on go-karts, bumper boats, batting cages, kiddie rides, mini golf infrastructure, laser tag systems, and arcade equipment
  • Ensure all ride and attraction systems meet standards and applicable California state amusement ride regulations
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and parts usage
  • Coordinate with third-party inspectors and provide thorough mechanical documentation during annual and state inspections
Mechanical Operations and Repairs
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues across ride systems and park infrastructure
  • Perform complex repairs requiring specialized tools, manufacturer documentation, or vendor coordination
  • Manage parts inventory across locations and coordinate procurement to ensure critical components are always on hand
  • Address maintenance needs promptly, minimizing guest-facing downtime and communicating transparently with park management
  • Maintain all mechanical systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and Lucky Strike Entertainment safety protocols
Safety and Compliance
  • Champion a safety-first culture across your team and all properties
  • Ensure strict adherence to lockout/tagout procedures and all Occupational Safety and Health Administration safety standards
  • Respond swiftly to safety concerns and mechanical issues, implementing corrective action and escalating appropriately
  • Partner with park leadership and the Director of Facilities on capital improvement planning, equipment lifecycle assessments, and safety audits
  • Stay current with industry standards, state regulations, and Lucky Strike Entertainment policy through ongoing training and professional development
Team Leadership
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of mechanics across Castle Park and Boomers properties
  • Build and manage maintenance schedules that balance operational demands across all locations
  • Provide technical training to mechanics and collaborate with park operations teams to build basic maintenance awareness
  • Serve as a resource and escalation point for on-site mechanical staff, offering guidance and hands-on support as needed
  • Foster accountability, consistency, and a high standard of craft across your team
Cross-Location Collaboration
  • Travel regularly between Castle Park and Boomers properties; a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for regional coverage
  • Collaborate with General Managers and District Managers at each property to align on maintenance priorities and capital needs
  • Provide clear written and verbal communication to park leadership regarding equipment status, project timelines, and safety concerns
  • Partner with the Director of Facilities and Vice President of Operations on long-range infrastructure planning

What You'll Bring

  • Five or more years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience, ideally in an amusement park, family entertainment center, or high-volume entertainment or hospitality environment
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining go-karts, rides, or comparable mechanical systems with rotating parts, hydraulics, and electrical components
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Experience developing and managing preventative maintenance programs
  • Familiarity with American Society for Testing and Materials F24 standards and California Division of Occupational Safety and Health amusement ride inspection requirements
  • Proficiency with electrical systems including motors, controls, programmable logic controllers, and variable frequency drives
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration 10 certification or willingness to obtain; lockout/tagout certified
  • Demonstrated leadership experience supervising or mentoring mechanical staff
  • Ability to work across multiple sites; valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities across locations simultaneously

Preferred:

  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration 30 certification
  • Prior multi-site or regional maintenance management experience
  • Go-kart fleet maintenance experience with gas and/or electric vehicles
  • Welding certification or significant welding experience
  • Computerized maintenance management system or work order management system experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
