Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Intermediate Neuro ENT Unit role requiring ACLS, NIHSS, and charge/precepting readiness.

Details
  • 18-bed Intermediate Neurosciences & ENT Unit, including 4 epilepsy monitoring beds, within a hospital setting
  • Cares for a mixed patient population including stroke, tumors, epilepsy, spine injury, neuromuscular and neurodegenerative conditions, neurotrauma, CNS infections, and ENT malignancies
  • Unit currently operating under a pilot program with a mixed step-down and acute care population, with typical assignments of up to 5 patients
  • Nurses should be comfortable managing both acute and step-down neurological patients in a dynamic care environment
  • Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm
  • 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
  • Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • May be required to work in a charge or precepting role nearly every shift
Requirements
  • Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
  • ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
  • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required; BSN or MSN preferred
  • Charge nurse and precepting experience required

  • Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
  • Coordinate and provide patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Participate in patient and family education, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Support unit performance improvement activities and cost-effective care initiatives
  • Promote a safe, clean, and secure environment for patients and staff
  • Part of a nationally recognized team delivering compassionate, collaborative neuroscience and ENT care
