Job description

Violin/Viola/Cello Music Teacher - Sistema Utah/American Preparatory Academy (West Valley City)

Compensation: $14-20 hr DOE

Employment type: part-time

We are looking for a dynamic individual with a passion to teach VIOLIN/Viola/Cello for our after school music program using the Suzuki Method. Sistema Utah is partnered with American Preparatory Academy to offer music classes after school at Title I schools. Patterned after the El Sistema movement that originated in Venezuela, it is our hope to empower our students for social change.

Group teachers and instructors will work together to teach beginning instrumental skills and repertoire in groups of 8-16 students. They will teach three separate classes a day after school, Monday through Friday.

Teacher positions will be filled by candidates with a high level of experience and expertise in their specific instrument area. These teachers will be trained and coached by the program directors and administrators.

Hours: Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 3:30-7:00; Wednesday and Thursday 2:30-6:00

College music degree and Suzuki Method teacher training is a plus.
