Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is a non-profit corporation that provides culturally sensitive health care to the American Indian population. OKCIC services include not only basic medical care but also dental, optometry, behavioral health, fitness, nutrition, and other family programs.

The Oklahoma City Indian Clinic is seeking a compassionate, skilled Dentist to provide comprehensive, patient-centered dental care in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role delivers high-quality diagnostic, preventive, and restorative dental services while supporting the Clinic’s mission of excellence and culturally respectful care.

The Dentist will examine, diagnose, and treat diseases and conditions of the teeth and oral cavity; perform restorative procedures and extractions; administer local anesthesia; and provide preventive services, including fluoride and sealants. This position also plays an important leadership role by supervising dental hygienists and assistants, conducting peer reviews, and contributing to program development and quality improvement initiatives.

Applicants claiming Indian Preference must complete the full application and must provide documentation verifying eligibility (such as a tribal enrollment card or Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB)).

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides comprehensive dental care to clinic patients in accordance with accepted guidelines.
  • Examines patients to determine the nature of the condition and make referrals and/or recommendations to specialists when appropriate.
  • Cleans teeth and provides preventive dental services to patients, such as applications of fluoride and sealants to teeth, etc.
  • Restores broken and decayed teeth.
  • Administers local anesthesia.
  • Extracts diseased teeth.
  • Educates patients and staff in proper oral health care and dental hygiene.
  • Adheres to safety and infection control procedures.
  • Performs a head/neck exam to identify any signs/symptoms of any potential infection or disease.
  • Assists clinic administration in program development and implementation.
  • Performs quarterly peer reviews on other staff dentists and submits them promptly to the Director.

Qualifications
  • Must align with OKCIC vision, mission, and core values
  • Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position, medical marijuana license holders who test positive for marijuana will not be qualified for this position.
  • Graduate of an accredited dental school or university with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. School must be approved by the American Dental Association.
  • License to practice dentistry in the State of Oklahoma and in good standing with the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry.
  • Current OBNDD and DEA licenses.
  • Current CPR is required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Must be a multi-tasker.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must provide excellent customer service.
