Citizens have the right to vote, obtain a U.S. passport, work in the country, and receive protection from the government. Responsibilities include obeying laws, paying taxes, and serving on juries if called. Citizenship can be acquired by birth within the U.S., through American parents, or by naturalization. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an American citizen, and why are they important?

This is not a professional occupation, so there are no specific core skills, qualifications, or certifications required to be an American Citizen. Generally, American citizenship is a legal status rather than a job, and does not involve the use of technical tools or systems as part of an occupation. Soft skills such as civic engagement or community participation may help individuals contribute positively to society but are not job requirements. Therefore, occupational skills and professional success factors do not apply to citizenship status.
