Role Summary
A Technical Solution Architect to lead the technical engagement and growth of AMD-based embedded x86 solutions across the Americas. This role will drive design wins, customer adoption, and competitive displacement versus Intel, NVIDIA, and other ARM-based platforms.
The ideal candidate combines deep CPU architecture knowledge with strong customer-facing skills and the ability to translate system-level requirements into scalable embedded solutions.
Brief Description: Lead the design and adoption of next-generation Edge AI systems built on advanced AMD compute platforms
Key Objectives
  • Drive AMD x86 embedded design activity and wins across Avnet's strategic accounts
  • Establish Avnet as a trusted advisor for embedded compute and edge AI solutions
  • Strengthen competitive positioning vs. Intel, NVIDIA, and ARM ecosystems
  • Enable internal sales teams to confidently position and sell AMD solutions

Core Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute technical sales strategy for AMD embedded compute
  • Provide system-level architecture guidance in designing with AMD X86 (CPU, memory, storage, I/O, acceleration)
  • Engage customers from concept through production, supporting design reviews and solution definition
  • Drive high-value design opportunities through the funnel
  • Deliver technical training and enablement to internal and external customers
  • Build strong alignment with AMD and ecosystem partners to accelerate execution
  • Communicate competitive differentiation vs. Intel, NVIDIA, and ARM platforms
  • Design and prepare customer facing demonstrations on AMD Embedded x86 platforms

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 5-10+ years in FAE, Solution Architect, or technical sales engineering role.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • x86 CPU architectures (AMD and Intel)
  • Embedded/system-level design (compute, memory, I/O, power)
  • Experience supporting customer design cycles and engineering engagement
  • Proven ability to drive design wins and influence technical decisions

Preferred Experience
  • Direct experience with AMD processors (Ryzen, EPYC, embedded x86)
  • Familiarity with:
  • NVIDIA (GPU/AI platforms)
  • ARM-based solutions (NXP, Qualcomm, Marvell, etc.)
  • FPGA and Programmable SoC products
