Job Description

Position Overview:

The Sr. Sustainability & Marketing Analyst supports Amcor Rigid Packaging North America's sustainability strategy and commercial growth initiatives through data management, reporting, compliance, market intelligence, marketing initiatives, and stakeholder engagement. This role is responsible for administering key sustainability platforms, driving data quality and integrity across manufacturing sites, leading life cycle assessment (LCA) work, managing regulatory and compliance programs, supporting both internal and external reporting obligations, competitive intelligence, and marketing initiatives that support customer engagement and business development.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, cross-functional communication ability, organized, and a proactive approach to managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs in a fast-paced environment, This position partners closely with Commercial, R&D, Operations, and Corporate Sustainability to support strategic decision-making and customer-facing initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

Sustainability Data Management & Reporting

  • Administer and maintain Altruistiq (AQ), Amcor's primary sustainability data platform, including user management, data validation, and ongoing platform configuration.
  • Conduct quarterly data validation cycles to ensure templates are completed accurately, rationales are documented, large variances are investigated and corrected, and invoices are uploaded.
  • Deliver completion reports and targeted reminder communications to drive on-time data submissions across all sites.
  • Perform annual reviews of site-level data methodology templates to ensure alignment with current reporting standards and business changes.
  • Train new platform users and facilitate recurring office hours to support manufacturing sites with troubleshooting and process questions.
  • Support Scope 3 GHG reporting for the corporate sustainability team, including production and transportation data collection and validation.
  • Coordinate sustainability targets and manage reporting to Amcor Limited in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

Dashboards, Analytics & Systems Integration

  • Develop, maintain, and refine sustainability dashboards and reporting tools across key program areas including PCR, recyclability, and transportation.
  • Streamline and automate data pulls to improve efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility of sustainability metrics for internal stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement of data collection processes, data assurance protocols, and analytical insights.
  • Collect and validate packaging and component data including materials, weights, and formats across product lines.
  • Maintain large datasets spanning SKUs, customers, and product lines, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Perform data quality checks to identify and resolve outliers, inconsistencies, and duplicates, leveraging in-depth knowledge of Amcor products and processes.
  • Document methodology and assumptions applied during data analysis to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and audit readiness.

Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs)

  • Conduct Life Cycle Assessments to substantiate environmental claims and support product and packaging sustainability goals.
  • Develop and present LCA findings for use at industry conferences, trade expos, and customer-facing engagements.
  • Support customer meetings related to LCA methodology, carbon reduction roadmaps, and Amcor's broader sustainability commitments.

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Manage Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) reporting obligations where Amcor acts as a producer, and support customers with their own external EPR reporting requirements..
  • Translate internal product specifications into structured data formats to support regulatory reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Administer the Sedex ethical responsibility reporting program across all Amcor Rigid Packaging manufacturing sites, including linking customers in the platform and supporting site HR teams with audit preparation and coordination.
  • Support internal and external end-of-year audits, including Intertek audits, by preparing documentation, coordinating logistics, and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Lead recyclability reporting activities and contribute to year-end reporting deliverables including sustainability partnerships and the Annual Sustainability Report.
  • Coordinate QSR reporting and support corporate-level sustainability disclosures.

Market Intelligence & Strategic Marketing Support

  • Conduct research and analysis on market trends, competitive activity, customer insights, and emerging technologies.
  • Develop and maintain databases related to competitors, customers, market trends, packaging technologies, and commercial insights.
  • Support annual strategic planning/M&A, business development initiatives through research and analytical insights.
  • Investigate new packaging technologies, manufacturing processes, and sustainability innovations to identify growth opportunities.
  • Support the development of marketing materials, customer presentations, sales collateral, press releases, and product launch communications.
  • Support customer meetings by providing sustainability data, market insights, competitive intelligence, and technical information.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Marketing or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, market research, marketing/business analytics, or a related analytical role.
  • Demonstrated experience with sustainability data platforms and GHG reporting frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, Scope 1/2/3).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data management skills with high level of attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data visualization or BI tools a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Experience managing large datasets and translating data into business insights.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and build strong internal and external relationships.

Preferred

  • Experience with Altruistiq, Sedex, or similar sustainability/ESG platforms.
  • Familiarity with Life Cycle Assessment methodology and tools.
  • Knowledge of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations.
  • Experience supporting third-party audits.
  • Experience with business intelligence or data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of the packaging, plastics, or manufacturing industry.
