Job description

Imagine being part of a team where your expertise can help reshape the future of the Energy industry and accelerate the global energy transition. Here at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you'll work with a
talented and inclusive team while using cutting-edge cloud technologies to solve the most complex challenges facing Energy companies worldwide.
We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect with a deep understanding of the Energy industry to support strategic customers in their cloud transformation journey. You will serve as the technical owner for customer relationships - advising on security, cost, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency across their entire AWS footprint

Working directly with customer executives and line-of-business owners, you'll architect highly scalable, resilient cloud solutions that drive measurable business outcomes and accelerate digital transformation across the energy sector.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end technical relationship with one or more of the largest Energy companies in the world, making recommendations on best-practice architectures that address real business problems
- Build trusted relationships with customer executives, engineering teams, and line-of-business owners - translating complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud architectures
- Lead technical discussions across all levels of the customer organization, from developers to C-suite, communicating the art of the possible while grounding solutions in practical delivery
- Advocate internally on behalf of the customer - sharing their needs with AWS product teams to influence platform roadmap development
- Create and deliver technical content including white papers, reference architectures, code samples, and workshops that establish thought leadership and accelerate industry transformation
- Help shape the Solutions Architecture organization by hiring, coaching, and mentoring others
A day in the life
You'll spend your day engaging directly with Energy industry leaders, diving deep into their most challenging technical and business problems - whether that's modernizing enterprise IT environments, enabling GenAI initiatives, optimizing large-scale data platforms, or navigating complex security and compliance requirements. One day you might be whiteboarding a migration strategy with a customer's infrastructure team; the next, presenting digital transformation strategy to C-suite executives. Each day brings unique opportunities to apply your industry expertise alongside the breadth of AWS services

This role requires weekly customer site visits in Houston, TX.
About the team
Join the AWS Energy & Utilities Solutions Architecture team, where we meet customers where they are in their cloud and AI journey and work backwards from industry-specific needs to transform both individual businesses and the entire Energy sector. Our team speaks the language of Energy customers, valuing deep domain expertise alongside cloud skills to drive meaningful industry transformation.
You'll be part of a global community of Solutions Architects who are passionate about solving complex technical challenges while building the future of cloud computing. Our inclusive culture encourages bold ideas, continuous learning, and collaboration across diverse perspectives to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
About the team
Diverse Experiences
AWS values diverse experiences

Even if you do not meet all of the qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasn't followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don't let it stop you from applying.

We pioneered cloud computing and never stopped innovating - that's why customers from the most successful startups to Global 500 companies trust our robust suite of products and services to power their businesses.
