Position Description:
Develops web applications and data solutions in a cloud environment using Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud technology. Designs and builds data pipelines using Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) and Extract, Load and Transform (ELT) principles to move data from diverse sources into data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics platforms. Implements data quality, validation, and governance by enforcing security protocols and compliance with regulatory requirements. Utilizes Structured Query Language (SQL) to design and deliver data lake, data warehouses, and reporting platforms. Tests and improves applications by leveraging Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and version control technologies. Reports on application functionality using tools --Tableau and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE). Manipulates and models data utilizing relational and dimension models. Automates routine processes, optimizes infrastructure, and monitors data workflows to ensure availability and reliability. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and collaborates closely with analysts, product teams, and executives to align data solutions with business needs.

  • Designs and builds data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into data warehouses, lakes, or analytics platforms.
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to ongoing development efforts.
  • Implements validation checks, monitors pipelines, and enforces data access and security protocols.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Automates routine processes, enhances infrastructure, and performs performance tuning.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
  • Prepares datasets for analytics and reporting and deploys models to production environments.
  • Provides solutions that deliver business value and long-term foundational data and analytics platform improvements.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing data integration, data modeling, and development of data pipelines and analytics solutions, using AWS, SQL, Teradata, and Informatica.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing data integration, data modeling, and development of data pipelines and analytics solutions, using AWS, SQL, Teradata, and Informatica.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") designing and implementing highly scalable and high-performance data ingestion frameworks and pipelines to enable data integration, transformation, and analytics in a financial services domain, using Python, AWS (Lambda, EMR, S3, and EC2), Linux, Shell scripting, Informatica, and Control-M.
  • DE performing data modeling and database design using Star, Snowflake, Data Vault techniques, and dimensional structures in a data warehouse environment with distributed frameworks (Snowflake and PySpark) and databases (Oracle and Snowflake).
  • DE translating business requirements into technical validations and examining data to determine accuracy and quality, using SQL/PLSQL; and automating the CI/CD for deployments using Stash, GitHub, Jenkins, and uDeploy.
  • DE designing and developing automation frameworks for ETL testing, feed file to database comparison, and database to database comparison, using ICEDQ tool and Gherkin language; and testing Tableau dashboards using data permutation combinations.
