Position Summary:

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing general warehouse duties required to fulfill customer orders. The Associate may work in any area of the distribution center, including receiving, shipping, order filling, stocking, returns, or packing.

In addition, Simon Pearce owns a box truck that is used to make local deliveries between our Quechee and Windsor locations once a day, Monday through Friday. Once per week, the truck is used to send deliveries to our store in Hanover, NH. The ideal candidate will be a substitute local truck driver approximately 1 day per week on average, and during vacations for the primary truck driver. This position does not require a CDL, but does require someone who can be responsible for loading, unloading and driving a box truck with a lift gate. Training will be provided to any willing applicant.

Warehouse Associate Responsibilities:

  • Forklift Certified (training will be provided)

  • Pick, clean and giftbox customer orders

  • Box and ship orders safely using UPS & FedEx software

  • Pack product for transportation to main distribution center in Maryland & retail stores

  • Unpack totes to restock shelves

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times

  • Comply and /or report violation to the company rules, regulations and policies

  • Must have reliable attendance record in accordance with company policy

  • All other duties as assigned

Back Up  Truck Driver Responsibilities:

  • Fill in for the primary truck driver on average 1 day per week and in particular during vacations and sick days.

    • Transport Simon Pearce products and other company related materials to our retail locations in Hanover, Quechee and Windsor. Approximately 10 miles 

    • This position does not require a CDL

  • Occasionally, provide ride along assistance when deliveries are heaviest, during peak season. Help move products in and out of Quechee and Hanover.  

  • Load and unload truck, regardless of who is driving

  • Help ensure truck is functioning properly by completing and/or scheduling required maintenance

  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water prior to leaving for each delivery

  • All training will be provided 

Qualifications Required:

  • Valid Driver License and 3+ years experience

  • Must be in compliance with DOT regulations regarding interstate commerce such as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) require drivers to be at least 21 years old to operate in interstate commerce

  • Successful completion of a DOT physical

  • Clean background check

  • High school diploma or GED or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  

  • Solid verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to read maps and operate GPS systems
