Key job responsibilities
You will be responsible for owning and driving large-scale customer-facing web applications from inception to delivery and beyond. You will solve technical challenges in web computing, back-end services, and algorithms. Your solutions will be part of consumer products used everyday by people you know.
A day in the life
As an engineer on the Amazon Kids+ Parent Experience Engineering team, you will leverage your experience as a software engineer to solve difficult technical problems and deliver compelling features to customers. You'll invent, design and build software that solves day-to-day challenges that kids and their parents face. You'll work closely with your leadership and product management stakeholders to design simple solutions. You'll help to maintain our production software in the field and you'll identify our pain points and drive your team to solve them. You'll help make your team better, more efficient, and a more enjoyable place to work.
About the team
The Amazon Kids+ Parent Experience Engineering team helps parents and kids maximize the value of their Amazon Kids+ subscription to create, play, and learn on their Amazon devices. We are customer obsessed, mission-driven, and collaborative in everything we do. Our goal is to raise the bar with every delivery so that we can maintain the hard-earned trust of parents and their children.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
