Job description

Do you want to innovate on a new platform with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Come join our team in AWS, you'll help us design and deliver data engineering solutions that enables AWS to expand our operations into new data centers worldwide. Our green-field solutions will support programs in compliance and sustainability, and build a platform that will extend to first-class AWS services.

You will collaborate with engineers designing data solutions at scale.
Global Trade and Product Compliance (GTPC) works closely with the business and its partners to support global business expansion efforts by enabling the international flow of AWS' hardware, software, services, and technology. We facilitate global trade and ensure compliance with all relevant global trade and product compliance standards, laws, and regulations.
Key job responsibilities
- Architecture design and implementation of next generation complex data pipelines and BI solutions based out of AWS.
- Manage AWS resources including S3, EC2, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, EMR, Lambda, Glue, Apache Airflow etc.
- Build and deliver high quality data architecture and pipelines to support business analyst, data scientists, and customer reporting needs.
- Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources
- Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers
- Actively participate in the code review process, design discussions, team planning, operational excellence, and constructively identifies problems and proposes solutions


A day in the life
As a Security Assurance Data Engineer, you will help tackle a diverse landscape of technical challenges. You will partner with other Software Engineers along with Data Engineers, Business Intelligence Engineers, Product Manager, and Program Managers inside and outside of the team to distill large, complicated datasets into automated, digestible analytic deliverables. You will play an active role in translating business requirements into concrete systems and prototyping concepts in partnership with Amazon, technology leaders within the team and across the business.
You'd be expected to have high standards for writing SQL, build data pipelines with infrastructure as code, code quality, code reviews, testing, and operational excellence

You'll support your peers to deliver results in a space that operates much like a start-up, with the autonomy to build the right solution from Day One.
