Job Description:

I. Position Summary:

The Receiver / Mail Clerk is a member of the Culinary Services team. Accept and stock daily food and beverage products, and non-food products. Maintain (stock, rotate stock, and clean) the general storeroom, walk-in coolers, and main kitchen freezer in accordance with general stocking practices and serve safe requirements, to ensure wholesome, quality food and beverage. Issue reqs, and deliver food, beverage, and non-food products to departments in accordance to the requisition policies and procedures. Assist the supervisor in purchasing all food and beverage related inventories. Working directly with the Supervisor of Purchasing and the Receiving Supervisor of Central stores, pick up and deliver packages and mail across Independent Living (IL) and Assisted Living (AL) communities.

II. Position Accountabilities:

a. Essential Functions:

Distribute packages of vendor deliveries (UPS, Amazon, LaserShip, Fedex and USPS) throughout AL and IL communities Monday through Friday.
Maintain records of receipt, mailing dates, and other required information
Sort incoming resident and department mail, including notices and memoranda, and deliver to both AL and IL residents and departments.
Pick up residents' and employees' package returns from front desk and deliver to Central Stores.
Work with Manager of Purchasing, Executive Chef and Sous Chefs to issue requisitions for groceries, meats, poultry, seafood, dairy, and produce in a timely manner.
Work with food service coordinators regarding the issuing of household stock requisitions.
In the absence of the purchasing clerk, work closely with outlet managers and healthcare food coordinators to order coffee, tea, paper goods, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages for daily operations and special function.
Maintain (stock, rotate stock, and clean) the general storeroom, walk-in coolers, and main kitchen freezer in accordance with general stocking practices and serve safe requirements, to ensure wholesome, quality food and beverage.
Manage the receiving and placement of products in assigned storeroom location in an organized manner.

b. Supportive Function:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions.
1. Participate in purchasing team meetings
2. Perform any general tasks using standard NBOC cleaning products to adhere to health department standards.
3. Perform other duties as requested by purchasing or special guest requests.

IV. Safety Requirements

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential risk to your health or safety. NBOC will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your supervisor.

VI. Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Some work experience in related field preferred.

Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently in order to complete forms, inventories, read billings, invoices and communicate with co-workers and suppliers.
Operate Ipad, copier, fax, telephone and basics computer factions.


VII. Grooming/Uniforms

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and /or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as part of the orientation process.

NOTE: New bridge on the Charles operates 7 days a week 365 days a year. This position requires flexibility in regards to scheduling including the potential of working weekend shifts.
