Job description

Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) is a fully managed container orchestration service that helps you easily deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications. The ECS team develops features that impact thousands of users and customers both internally and externally!
Amazon ECS is looking for a Software Development Engineer (SDE) to deliver our container orchestration service and accelerate adoption of containers in the cloud. This role includes responsibility for ECS and Fargate, our Serverless container compute offering.

We are seeking an SDE with strong knowledge of distributed systems. You must enjoy working on complex software systems in a customer-centric environment and be passionate not only about building good software but also ensuring that the same software achieves its goals in operational reality.
A successful candidate will need a strong understanding of software development with Linux, and be comfortable analyzing large amounts of data from multiple sources within a distributed network.
- Create a first-class experience for our customers by keeping their needs at the center of your work.
- Solve difficult problems with elegant and practical code.
- Design, build, deploy, and own scalable and robust systems, taking well scoped requirements through to delivery.
- Help operate a public AWS service, including participating in on-call and improving operational health.
- Use data to guide your decisions and validate your assumptions.
- Contribute to architecture and technology choices for your features, and grow into a broader technical voice over time.
- Develop project plans and commitments, and deliver consistently against them.
