Job description

Job Title: Senior AWS Cloud Developer
Openings: 5
Location: Remote within Eastern, Central, or Mountain Time Zones

Position Overview

We are seeking highly experienced AWS Cloud Developers to support a large scale migration from on premises systems to AWS. This is a hands on development position requiring strong software engineering experience. It is not a purely architectural or leadership role.

The selected candidates will develop new cloud native applications and services primarily in Python. They will also work with existing Java based applications as part of the migration to AWS. Senior leads and architects may be considered only if they remain deeply hands on with development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy cloud native applications on AWS
  • Build serverless applications using AWS Lambda and Step Functions
  • Develop new application components and services using Python
    Support the modernization and migration of existing Java applications to AWS
  • Design and develop scalable APIs and event driven integrations
  • Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
  • Develop Kafka based messaging and streaming solutions
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using Amazon CloudWatch
  • Participate in system design and cloud architecture decisions
  • Troubleshoot complex application, integration, and cloud infrastructure issues
  • Collaborate consistently with technical teams and follow through on delivery commitments
  • Provide strategic technical guidance while remaining actively involved in coding and implementation

Required Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of overall software development and engineering experience
  • Extensive hands on AWS cloud development and engineering experience
  • Strong recent experience developing AWS Lambda functions
  • 5 or more years of Python development experience preferred
  • Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience with AWS Step Functions
  • Experience designing and developing APIs
  • Experience with Kafka or similar event streaming technologies
  • Experience with Amazon CloudWatch for logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of system design, distributed systems, and cloud architecture
  • Experience migrating applications from on premises environments to AWS
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a consistent record of ownership and follow through
  • Ability to think strategically while remaining deeply involved in hands on development
