Key job responsibilities
* Design and develop high availability tools for our Amazon Robitics enabled Fulfillment Center operations
* Work with our partners to integrate new data sources into our diagnostic insights platform
* Lead discussions with our operations customers to understand and fill gaps in our tools
* Participate in code reviews, design meetings, integration testing, and production rollout
* Establish best practices to raise the quality bar for our products
A day in the life
As a Software Development Engineer II within the Robotics Operation Management org, you will get to work with a wide range of customers and stakeholders in order to ensure smooth operation of one of the largest robotic systems in the world. You will be empowered to find and solve the problems our customers are facing. You will lead the design and development of our operational insights platform for our Operations teams, enabling them to manage and maintain the complexities of the Amazon Robotics system. You will drive continuous improvement of the platforms you build, ensuring a highly available, scaleable solution.
About the team
Amazon Robotics is seeking uniquely talented and motivated Software Development Engineer to join ourRobotics Operation Management org , focused on improving the operations of the Amazon Robotics (AR) solutions through automation, with the explicit goal of simplifying system management and decision making for our global network of fulfillment and transportation sites. We act to bridge the gap between the technical intricacies of the Amazon robotics system and the day-to-day operational decision making to enable running a Fulfillment Center as efficiently as possible.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Experience with AWS technologies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics or natural language processing
- 2+ years of building complex software systems experience
- 2+ years of professional software development experience
- Experience utilizing AWS cloud solutions in a DevOps environment
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Familiarity with basic Machine Learning concepts and tools

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
