Title: House Manager & Family Assistant

Location: Carmel, IN

Employment Type: Part-time (12-15 hours/week)

Proposed Start Date: ASAP

Compensation: $2832/hour (flexible, based on experience)

Requirements:

  • Has reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement provided for errands completed during working hours)

Proposed Schedule:

  • Weekly Hours: 12-15 hours/week, primarily Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (between 9am2pm)
  • Flexibility for occasional date-night supervision (not a regular requirement)

Key Responsibilities:

Household Management & Organization:

  • Maintain household organization systems (closets, pantry, storage).
  • Tidy rooms daily, prep the house for bi-weekly cleaning services.
  • Conduct seasonal swaps for clothing, bedding, and decorations.
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs/pick-ups.
  • Daily maintenance: load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas.

Inventory Management & Errands:

  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
  • Manage running household supply lists.
  • Coordinate household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target).
  • Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, and dry cleaning.
  • Handle package pickups and deliveries.

Meal Planning & Preparation:

  • Plan and prepare simple, healthy dinners twice a week (cooked, cleaned, and put away by 4pm).
  • Prepare kids' lunches 2-3 days a week.
  • Assist in freezer meal prep if time allows.
  • Grocery shopping (mostly online order pick ups), using a shared ordering system.
  • Clean the kitchen after meal prep and maintain kitchen tidiness.

Laundry & Linen Care:

  • Full laundry management: wash, dry, fold, and organize clothes, bedding, towels.
  • Assist parents with putting away their clothes
  • Rotate bedding and refresh towels as needed.
  • Keep laundry areas organized and well-stocked with supplies.

Pet Care:

  • Walk the 2-year-old Irish Goldendoodle (weather permitting).
  • Refill dog food container as needed.

Vehicle Management:

  • Vacuum and wipe down family cars weekly.

Vendor & Property Oversight:

  • Assist in fixing household items when needed (i.e. change vacuum bag, light bulbs, etc).
  • Oversee outdoor spaces, maintain seasonal needs.
  • Maintain and water outdoor plants.
  • Assist with patio/outdoor space readiness.

Family Support:

  • Occasional date-night supervision.
  • When kids are off school, tackle kid-related projects (room and basement organization, for example).

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects:

  • Occasional deep cleaning (fridge, oven, baseboards).
  • Maintain and refresh entryways, garage, and mudroom.
  • Organize special projects like toy storage and seasonal decorations.
  • Assist with gift wrapping.
